This huge ray is one of the locals in the harbour at Apollo Bay. While I’ve seen it many times walking around the harbour and pier, I’ve never been this close! I decided to stop filming and enjoy the moment. We coasted along for another minute or so before it headed into the shallow seaweed and I headed out deeper.
Henderson Falls in flood on Tuesday - just a bit different to normal! A 4.3km return walk, it was quite muddy after all the recent rain so hiking poles were very useful! Plenty of walkers struggling in the wrong footwear although I did have to laugh at the guy piggybacking his gf who was wearing white volleys 😂 he definitely got a workout!! #waterfalls
After recent heavy rain, Lower Kalimna falls was gushing a couple of days ago... this time we walked from Garvey Track which makes it a much shorter walk than from Sheoak Picnic Ground. Garvey Track is open seasonally so check before you go. 😉
I love how ferns and plants grow all over each other in rainforests! I love the endless shades of green and the fresh clean air. Nothing like a rainforest walk to refresh your mind and body.
So many gravel roads to explore in the Otways. I took a new way back (in my car) from Lorne and discovered Sharps Rd. Would be a big climb back up from Lorne on a #gravelbike but all options from Lorne to Forrest have a steep climb up 🤪 Very picturesque track and one I will add to my list of ones to explore on a #gravelgrind one day....
Due to the Vic Champs series being held in Forrest on 5 & 6 Dec, some of the trails will be closed to the public during race times. Southern Trails are unaffected and plenty of Yaugher trails also still open....
Need some green in your life? Get out of the city and back to nature. The cool fresh air of temperate rainforest, along with the lush green ferns and moss, will help you to relax, unwind and begin to lower your stress level. #shinrinyoku #forestbathing
