Frequently Asked Questions
Our view is simple. It's not your fault if the government locks you down. And if you need to isolate because you've been to an exposure site, we don't want you coming here because you're worried about losing your money. If you cannot come because of a government lockdown, restrictions, test results or isolation requirement, you can either postpone or get a refund.
Check-in is from 2:30pm Monday - Saturday.
We don't normally offer check-ins on Sundays, however if we make an exception, check-in is from 4pm.
You can always call to check if your room is ready earlier if you are nearby or running early.
Check-out is at 10:30am Monday - Saturday.
Late check-outs are usually available on Sundays (as we don't usually allow Sunday check-ins). On Sundays, check-out is 12pm.
When it's time to go, simply leave your key in the door.

We are happy for you to bring your furry friend but please let us know in the comments on your booking request.
Please note: there are no fences on this property out to the main road so please supervise your pet at all times when they are out in the garden.
Please bring pet bedding, and any other equipment you will need. Please do not leave your pet unattended in your suite if they are likely to become distressed or destroy property due to boredom. Any damage caused by your pet will need to be paid for. If you bring your pet, then you agree to pay any costs incurred.
We have lots of wildlife that come onto our property including koalas, foxes, echidnas and birds, plus we own chickens on our side of the property. Guests come here to enjoy the peaceful surrounds so your dog needs to be able to contain their excitement and not disturb other guests by barking uncontrollably.
All that said, we have had many beautiful pets, big and small, enjoy staying here with their owners.

There are a range of activities nearby such as hiking and bushwalking, mountain bike riding, high ropes courses and zip-lines, segway tours, fungi tours, platypus tours, foodie trails, wineries, breweries etc etc... the list is huge.

There is no petrol station in the town of Forrest.
The closest petrol stations are at Colac, Winchelsea or Apollo Bay. It is wise to fill up before driving to Forrest. You will need to come here with enough in the tank to drive another 25km to the closest petrol in Colac.
The Forrest General Store has a range of groceries items, including a large array of local produce.

Outside those hours, you can drive to Colac where there is a Woolworths store open till 10pm each night.
Not anymore. Due to COVID-19 and additional cleaning expenses, we have stopped offering breakfast provisions and simplified our hosting experience.
Our suites are now self-contained. Each suite has a microwave, mini fridge, plug-in induction cooktop mini toaster oven, kettle, toaster plus pots/pans and cooking utensils. There is also a BBQ in the guesthouse garden.
You cannot have additional people come and stay in the suite that you have not told us about at the time of booking. If you have a friend that wants to drop by, you are welcome to have them for a brief visit however please ensure that you do not disturb other guests.
You cannot hold a party in your suite or the garden.
