Beauchamp Falls
Beauchamp Falls are located 37.5km from Forrest in Beech Forest. It takes just under an hour via Turtons Track but it's a gorgeous drive. Turtons Track is very windy and restricted to 40kmph due to the lack of vision around corners and the road is not wide. If you get travel sick, you will need to take some motion sickness medication to tackle this. The last part of the drive is a gravel road which can throw up a lot of dust in summer so take care. There is an alternate route that heads off towards Colac if you want to avoid Turtons Track.
There are picnic tables, firepits, campsites and drop toilets at the carpark.
The track is well formed, and has information signs about different features of the area. There are many small birds, fungi and insect life to spot. The walk descends fairly steeply on the way to the falls, and finishes with approximately 150 steps with a hand rail. Allow approximately 1 hour at good pace.
At the bottom you can either climb up a couple of flights to a viewing platform to the right of the falls, or walk right down to the river. Beauchamp Falls can be combined with a visit to the Californian Redwood picnic ground or Hopetoun Falls. Also nearby are Triplet Falls and Little Aire Falls.
